Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract teaching opportunity is available for a specialized educator skilled in supporting students with visual impairments through telehealth services. This role focuses on delivering targeted instruction to two highly functional students, requiring a commitment of 8 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing tailored educational support and interventions for visually impaired students via telehealth platforms Collaborating with families and educational staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional methods to meet individual needs Utilizing specialized strategies and resources appropriate for visually impaired learners Maintaining accurate documentation and communication related to student performance and service delivery Preferred qualifications and experience: Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working remotely or via telehealth with students who have visual impairments Strong communication skills to engage students and families virtually Ability to design and modify curriculum content to accommodate specific visual needs Familiarity with assistive technology used by visually impaired students This position is based in Paintsville, KY, offering a focused, part-time schedule suited for educators seeking to provide expert support in a telehealth context.
