Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a dynamic educational setting near Walton, KY. This exciting contract role spans the upcoming academic year, offering the opportunity to connect with students county-wide, helping to shape inclusive learning environments and drive student success.
Key qualifications and experience:
Hold a valid Kentucky Special Education License with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement Previous experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired within schools Strong understanding of adaptive instructional strategies for visually impaired students Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Commitment to onsite instruction; virtual services are not being considered at this time Primary responsibilities will include: Delivering specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various school sites within the county Collaborating with classroom teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to ensure each students needs are met Assessing students functional vision and instructional needs Developing accessible materials and providing training to staff to accommodate student learning Monitoring progress, maintaining documentation, and participating actively in IEP meetings This contract position begins August 17, 2026 and concludes May 26, 2027, with a part-time schedule of 25 hours per week.
