Sep 1, 2026 Job Description Riverview School is an independent coeducational boarding/day school, providing a caring community and learning environment for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning and cognitive disabilities. We are committed to developing student competence and confidence in academic, social and independent living skills. We are seeking Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Job Classification:
Full time, Exempt - 10 months.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide instruction in a variety of subject areas
  • Engage in data-driven instruction and meaningful assessment practices
  • Adapt instruction and materials to meet the individual needs of students
  • Collaborate and communicate with other team members in addressing the needs of the whole child
  • Use technology to support and facilitate meaningful learning experiences
  • All other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
  • Massachusetts license in Special Education/Moderate Disabilities (grades 5-12) or eligibility for a waiver
  • Related experience (experience in an independent school environment preferred)
  • Strong ability to incorporate technology into instruction
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple demands
  • Passion for Riverview's mission and the field of special education
  • Suitable background check results (CORI, SORI, DCF) and fingerprinting required
  • Current/valid driver's license
  • CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
