Job Description
Position Available for the 2026-2027 School Year
Full Time ESP (Education Support Professional):
Position Purpose:
Provides support to students with disabilities, primarily in the general education setting. To assist with maintaining, implementing, and assessing the delivery of services that are contained in individual or collective student Individual Educational Plans (IEP) in an effort to provide them with physical and emotional support.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, and achievement and implement IEP objectives.
Assists and guides all students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction and other skills.
Works with students individually, in small groups, or whole group to reinforce and reteach basic learning and implement assigned programs.
Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs
Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.
Assists all students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, specials.
Assists students with activities of daily living and hygiene for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities (diapering, toileting, feeding, physical maneuvering).
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
Assists with fostering independence, socialization, and self-esteem for all students.
Completes required trainings offered by the district
All other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Day:
7 hours per day
Salary/Benefits:
Starts at $19.12/hour/Per Unit D contract
