Job Description Ideal Childcare Center is looking for passionate, committed, Early Childhood Lead Teachers to join our team. As a Lead Teacher, you will plan and implement developmentally appropriate educational opportunities consistent with Ideal Childcare Center's vision and curriculum goals. You will establish a classroom environment which is safe, content and sensory rich, intentional, organized, appealing, and responsive to the needs and interests of the children in your class. You will be primarily responsible for observing the children and documenting their strengths, opportunities for growth, and progress over time. As a Lead Teacher, you will serve as a mentor for Assistant Teachers as appropriate. You will also form a partnership with families, establishing clear lines of communication and providing consistent and accurate information to families about their individual children. All members of Ideal Childcare Center staff must have a fundamental belief in the goodness of young children. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate educational opportunities consistent with the curriculum goals and philosophy of the school, and as directed by the Director Post and update information about current learning in the classroom Establish a classroom environment which is content and sensory rich, intentional, organized, appealing, responsive to the needs and interests of the children and approved by the Director Ensure that all pre-planned experiences are appropriately set up before the arrival of the children each morning Observe and document children's comments, questions, skills and actions for use in determining next steps in planning and documentation Observe and document children's actions, comments and questions to determine the individual needs, interests and contributions of each child Create a community of inclusion and respect among the children and adults in the classroom Implement the recommendations of specialists for individual support, as approved by the Director Communicate with parents on a regular basis, including but not limited to sharing information about individual children as needed and sharing class wide insights into the experiences and studies of the class as a whole electronically at a schedule to be determined by the Director Ensure that information shared with families at Parent-Teacher conferences is reflective, meaningful and shows children's growth. Direct, mentor and collaborate with any assistant teachers working in their classroom, in accordance with direction of the Director Maintain accurate daily attendance records Maintain accurate meal records Ensure accident report forms are completed when appropriate, and given to the Director to sign before sending to the parents. Any time a child bumps or injures him or herself above the neck, a parent must be notified personally, not just by our form. Ensure that only authorized individuals pick up children Other duties as assigned All Staff Responsibilities Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with children and families At all times, speak to children with respect Maintain an appropriate and safe environment for children at all times Actively supervise children at all times Intervene in the event that a child is being bullied or otherwise harmed, physically or emotionally, by other children or adults Utilize only positive discipline and natural consequences when behavioral support is necessary Participate in team planning meetings and professional development days Participate in programs that are considered an integral part of the school, though they may fall outside of regular work hours At all times remain in compliance with our Confidentiality Policy Promptly report damages and needed repairs Wash classroom surfaces daily, keep the floors free of large litter and food Thoroughly clean and straighten the common space on a rotating basis Immediately report any instances of suspected abuse or neglect, to protective services as required by law Other duties as assigned
Pay:
