Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Passionate about supporting high school students with cognitive impairments? This full-time contract opportunity could be an ideal fit. Two experienced Special Education Teachers are needed for a dedicated classroom focused on cognitive impairment. You'll play a vital role in shaping individualized education plans and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active Michigan Special Education teaching license Experience in high school settings preferred Background and skill in working with students with cognitive impairments Familiarity with IEPs, instructional best practices, and behavioral strategies Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction per Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Assess student strengths and needs to inform lesson planning Foster a supportive environment for academic, social, and emotional growth Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers Communicate progress and areas of need to families and interdisciplinary teams Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and district requirements This assignment offers a stable schedule of 37.5 hours weekly and runs through June 10, 2027.
