Job Description

Coloma Community Schools Full Time Special Education Paraprofessional 26-27
School Year Summary:
We are seeking a full time Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Coloma Elementary School. The ideal candidate will work closely with special education students to provide support and assistance in the classroom, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
Responsibilities:
Assist special education students with daily classroom activities, including reading, writing, and math Help students with physical and behavioral needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge
Requirements:
Must have one of the following: Associates Degree 60+ Credits Passed the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment with a core of 460+ SAT Score of 480+ (reading & writing) & 530+ (math) Previously passed
MTCC, Workkeys, ACT or MME Requirements Continued:
High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred) Experience working with special education students, either in a school or other setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances as required by the school district
