General Information/Duties:
Plan, deliver, and assess instruction consistent with district curriculum Provide a variety of learning methods and resources to engage students in educational activities and lessons Implement student Individual Education Plans and coordinate transition services Work cooperatively with regular and special education teachers, LISD personnel, governmental and other service agencies. Plan for and supervise teacher assistants for students in the general education classrooms. Continuously monitor and evaluate student outcomes through informal and formative assessments Effectively and consistently communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community Be a team player; working with other members to improve techniques, relations with the community, and school environment Committed to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology. Participate in district-wide professional development Perform other duties consistent within the scope of the position
Qualifications:
Minimum of 60 semester hours of satisfactory credit (grade 'C' or better) combined from one or more two- or four-year colleges or universities recognized by Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or an associate degree from a college, university, or community college in accordance with Michigan Compiled Law (MCL) 380.1233. Demonstrated skills in the use of technology Ability and willingness to work in a team setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of the academic, social, and emotional needs of the high school age student is required.
