Responsibilities Teaching and Learning:

Understand the Michigan Academic Standards, Benchmarks, and Grade Level Content Expectations. Establish clear learning targets and lesson plans for every lesson to promote student growth. Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently implement instructional best practices.

May consult with staff on behalf of the students. May provide direct instruction to the students up to full time in special education setting. May provide direct instruction to the students with disabilities in either a general education or special education setting. Will exhibit a need for ongoing support across environments, based on individual student needs and goals identified by the IEP team and may benefit from this level of programming. May need behavioral accommodations or supports May follow general education curriculum with accommodations or modifications and/or a board approved functional (alternative) curriculum as determined by the IEP team. May take state and district assessments with accommodations and/or alternative assessments as determined by the IEP team. May receive either a regular diploma or certificate of completion.

Qualifications Knowledge, Education and Experience:

Committed to high academic achievement, and high expectations for all students. Able to be a positive team player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families. Open to being coached and receiving feedback to advance learning and growth for students. Professional with high personal standards and integrity. Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University or be upcoming graduates in an accredited teacher preparation program. If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must apply for a Michigan teaching license. Meet Michigan Teaching Certification Requirements. Meet all state and federal requirements.
