About Paladin:
Paladin is a forward-thinking, tuition-free public charter high school catering to grades 9-12+. We combine project-based learning, seminar instruction, experiential learning, and restorative practices to help young people build a meaningful path toward graduation. Position Objective:
The Special Education Teacher provides direct instruction, case management, evaluation support, and IEP development. This position plays a vital role in helping students access academic learning, develop confidence, and move toward successful postsecondary goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct special education assessments and evaluations. Develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), data collection systems, and progress reports. Provide comprehensive case management for students on your assigned caseload. Maintain due process records adhering to MDE and TSES Manual timelines. Support students within a Project-Based, Experiential, and Work-Based Learning environment. Plan and facilitate parent, staff, and team collaboration meetings. Coordinate service delivery times with related providers and general education staff. Create a flexible, supportive, and student-centered learning community. Other Duties As Assigned by
Executive Director Experience and Qualifications:
Required:
Possess an appropriate MN Teaching License in Special Education (any disability area/specialization welcome). Passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and data privacy compliance. Superior professional judgment and the ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions. Preferred (Training Will Be Provided): Experience working with physically, behaviorally, or emotionally impaired high school students. Familiarity with Restorative Practices, Circle Processes, and Trauma-Informed Care. Knowledge of youth risk factors and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is dependent on education and experience. Physical Requirements:
