Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with elementary-age students with cognitive impairments and/or autism Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for individualized instruction and classroom management Strong collaboration skills for partnering with general education teachers, support staff, and families Excellent organizational, communication, and observation skills Commitment to developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
What You'll Do:
Design and deliver individualized lessons that address the unique needs of each student Develop, review, and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams Foster a welcoming, structured, and safe classroom environment to encourage student growth Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies as needed Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and team members regarding student progress and goals Participate in professional development and school meetings to stay informed of best practices and resources Provide direct instruction, behavioral guidance, and support for communication and social skills Picture yourself helping young learners overcome challenges and celebrate their successes each day.
