Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a supportive school setting near Saint Francis, MN! This contract position spanning the 2026-2027 school year is ideal for professionals dedicated to fostering accessible, engaging learning environments for students with visual impairments. Work approximately 20 hours per week, providing direct and indirect support to a diverse caseload of around 23 students, including one who is braille-learning. You'll collaborate closely with school staff to empower students, deliver essential services, and help every individual reach their full potential.
Qualifications:
Valid Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI) teaching license issued by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) - this is required. Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in school-based settings strongly preferred. Strong ability to provide both direct instruction and consultative/indirect service minutes. Familiarity with developing and implementing accommodations for students with visual impairments. Comfortable supporting students with varying needs, including those learning Braille.
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and indirect educational services to approximately 23 students with visual impairments. Support one student in learning Braille, adjusting instructional strategies to meet individual needs. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement instructional modifications. Track and document service delivery, progress, and communications as required. Foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports the educational growth of each student.
