9667354-27012 Job Description Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist and Teacher serving K-12 learners throughout a district-wide setting. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and advocacy for students with hearing differences, making a direct impact on their educational journey. As an itinerant professional, youll work in multiple schools, collaborating with dedicated teams to help every student reach their full potential.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Previous experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities Strong collaboration and communication abilities with multidisciplinary teams and families Flexibility to travel across multiple school sites within the district Deep knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance procedures A creative, engaging, and student-centered approach to learning
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students identified as Deaf/Hard of Hearing across various school locations Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals based on individual student needs Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies, resources, and training for accessible instruction Advocate for student access and inclusion, promoting best practices in auditory and visual learning environments Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings Foster strong relationships with families, ensuring open communication and collaboration Gain valuable experience working with a diverse range of students, deepen your expertise in the field, and enjoy the rewarding challenges of supporting learners district-wide.
