This contract position calls for a skilled Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact in a self-contained K-3 classroom setting. In this role, you will work with a small, closely supported group—currently 4 to 5 students, with the potential for up to 7 or 8 as enrollment increases. What We're Looking For:
Current and valid North Carolina Special Education Teacher license (required) Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and proven behavior management skills preferred Comfortable with toileting and diapering responsibilities as needed Strong communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, therapies, and families Genuine commitment to fostering independence, self-advocacy, and positive student outcomes
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Developing and delivering IEP-driven instruction for K-3 students in a self-contained setting Adapting curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students' unique learning profiles Maintaining accurate records, progress monitoring, and data collection Building a safe and predictable classroom environment using evidence-based practices Working collaboratively with support staff to ensure the needs of each student are met daily Cultivating positive family relationships through regular updates and teamwork You'll work from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours each week—allowing for genuine work-life balance while making an impact in the classroom.
