Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a dynamic educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction tailored to meet diverse student needs, including those with developmental disabilities or special education requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational journey of children while collaborating with families, staff, and specialists to create an inclusive and engaging learning community. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating evidence-based practices such as Montessori or preschool methodologies. Manage classroom activities to promote active learning, positive behavior management, and social skills development. Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support students with autism, disabilities, or speech therapy needs. Conduct assessments using standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor progress and inform instruction. Prepare individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring specialized support and ensure their effective implementation. Mentor and supervise teaching assistants or junior staff, providing guidance on curriculum development and classroom management strategies. Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavioral reports, and communication logs with families regarding developmental milestones or concerns. Requirements Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or special education settings, including preschool or private school environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and behavioral therapy techniques. Experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Familiarity with curriculum development tools and lesson planning for diverse learners. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and external specialists. Ability to manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and behavioral health strategies. Certification or training in speech therapy, behavioral health, or related fields is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners' needs.
