Key Qualifications:
Active special education teaching license for the state of North Carolina (required) Strong background in working with early elementary students (K-3) Experience supporting students with autism and implementing effective behavior management strategies preferred Comfortable providing personal care, including toileting and diapering, as needed Proven commitment to fostering a nurturing and structured environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead a self-contained classroom with an evolving roster, currently 4-5 students, growing to 7-8 as enrollment increases Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs Use evidence-based instructional strategies to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development Employ proactive classroom management to facilitate positive behaviors and maximize learning time Collaborate with classroom support staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and ongoing communication Maintain thorough documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with all state and district requirements Provide a safe, accommodating environment for students with diverse needs, including assistance with personal care as necessary
Details & Schedule:
