Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position for an experienced Special Education Teacher, supporting PreK through 5th grade students in a collaborative school environment. This full-time role begins as soon as possible and extends through May 26, 2027, providing meaningful engagement with a manageable caseload of 16 students. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday, giving you a focused and balanced workweek.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Special Education Teaching Certification Experience teaching in inclusive and pull-out settings Familiarity with PreK-5th grade curriculum and instructional strategies Strong classroom management skills with ability to differentiate instruction Proven record of developing and implementing IEPs Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families Passion for fostering student growth and advocating for diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct and indirect instruction to students with varying exceptionalities in an inclusion and pull-out model Design and implement lesson plans individualized for student needs Develop, update, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly Work closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families Maintain clear documentation and comply with all state and federal special education requirements Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom climate This position offers the chance to make a lasting positive impact on students' academic and personal development, all while enjoying a consistent schedule with Fridays off.
