We are currently seeking a few exceptional people who have a passion to make a meaningful impact by facilitating the lives of the amazing people we support. The Childrens Services of ACLD provides a continuum of services to children from ages three to twenty-one in their pre-school and after-school programs. We currently have an opportunity for a Teacher to join our Bay Shore Facility. In this role, you will teach preschool children with a wide range of developmental ability in a variety of educational environments including self-contained, integrated, off-site, and individually. You will also plan and modify the educational curriculum to meet the individual needs of children using various techniques and strategies, consistent with NYS Pre-K standards and school district IEPs.
We require:
Masters degree in Early Childhood or related field; will consider Bachelors degree working toward Masters degree. NYS Teacher Certification in Special Education, Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) Experience working with preschool aged children with special needs preferred. Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of the day-to-day activities of preschoolers which may include, but not limited to, running, bending lifting up children. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Ability to objectively facilitate discussion, planning, and provide conflict resolution within the professional team. Ability to organize and manage professional team responsibilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator and motivator.
