Creative Arts Teacher Pay:
$56,000•$65,000 annually based on education & experience
Location:
Amherst, NY Schedule:
Monday•Friday, 8:00 AM•3:30 PM, 37.5 hrs./week The Summit Center is Western New York's leading provider of evidence-based services for children and adults with autism and other developmental, social, and behavioral challenges. Up to 12 days of paid time off 14-16 paid holidays annually Potential for annual raises and profit sharing Health, dental, and vision insurance/Medical opt-out payment (up to $1,000/year) 401K with up to 4% employer match Life and long-term disability insurance Your Impact as a Creative Arts Teacher Provide quality creative arts education to students with autism and developmental disabilities Teach students to use a variety of media types in order to promote communication and self-expression Utilize a creative and dynamic approach to providing creative arts in group and individual settings Provide exposure to a variety of art and music activities for the purpose of building lifelong leisure skills Create opportunities to experience art and music in a community setting, and work with local artists and musicians to provide "in house" art and music experiences Collaborate with teachers, supervisors, and the transition team to address individual student goals during art instruction Promote the development of life skills during instruction (obtaining materials, cleaning up materials, etc.) Demonstrate Summit's values of respect, collaboration, accountability, integrity, adaptability and optimism EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Art or Special Education Two years experience with special education
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
