Job description:

Administrative Develop & implement a program which meets the intellectual, emotional, social and physical needs of all children in the group. Establish and maintain an environment fostering healthy relationships among staff, volunteers and children Follow all

regulations. Follow all ECE policies. Addresses any conflicts or problems in the program with solution oriented thinking, and directly. (parents, staff or co-workers)

Family Involvement:

Develops Orientations for families Conducts child conferences throughout the calendar year Communicates with family with daily, weekly, and monthly updates

Program Implementations:

Develops diversified daily, weekly, monthly lesson plans that represent the YWCA's mission, adheres to OCFS regulations and follows appropriate child development schedules. Observe and record the development of children Provides predictable routine that provides security/safety for children Respond to feedback from school officials and incorporate in lesson planning to guide students into Kindergarten with appropriate skills and knowledge.

Human Resources:

Ensure strong communication with parents, staff members and all children in the program Maintain strict confidence regarding children, families, and staff in the program. Avoid gossip and spreading rumors Immediately report suspected abuse and neglect program director Serve as a dedicated, professional role model for staff and parents at all times Assists in training of new staff members Attends Professional development events and courses adhering to OCFS requirements. paperwork including attendance in a timely efficient manner.

Standards of Performance:

Effectively and Actively Supervises students per OCFS guidelines. Maintains ratios in the classroom at all times. Demonstrates hands-on understanding of developmentally appropriate practices including child-staff interactions, environments & curriculum. Interacts enthusiastically and compassionately with children. Children learn by play and achieve a diversified learning environment that consists of self-directed projects in individual settings and small group settings. Children explore creatively via art, music, imaginative play and manipulation of materials. Enrichment activities are encouraged by the Lead Teacher. The Lead Teacher leads by example, explains and invites staff to assist when developing lessons. Communication between families and staff is consistent, open, and ongoing throughout the calendar year. Records and paperwork are maintained, up to date, and well organized Feedback in the form of surveys are completed for evaluation by program & to improve practices to match parent expectations. Minimum Qualifications/Educational Experience:

NYS Teaching Certification Preferred or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field with plan of study to obtain Teaching Certification within 5 years

Skills:

Lesson Planning Able to delegate tasks, lead by example in the classroom Maintain composure in high stress situations Must have good communication skills and work well with the public and children as well as other employees and supervisors. Valid NYS drivers license preferred. Position requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching lifting up to 50 lbs What sets you apart?
