ACDS is actively recruiting for the hire of a Special Education Teacher for our Preschool in Plainview, Long Island, New York.

• Hired staff will also receive a $2500 sign on bonus after successful completion of introductory period!
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.

Provide instruction and support to students with developmental disabilities in a classroom setting. Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to foster a supportive learning environment. Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary. Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive behavior. Utilize communication skills to engage with students and their families effectively.

Requirements:

• Master's degree with minimum of 1-year post-educational experience working with children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
• Special Education Teacher Certification - Birth -Grade 2
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
