Job Description

We are looking for a caring, qualified, and dependable Teacher to join our 3-4-year-old classroom. The teacher will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment while planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons, activities, and hands-on learning experiences that support children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development. Activities may include early literacy, language, math, science, art, music and movement, sensory experiences, fine and gross motor development, and social-emotional learning. The teacher will build positive relationships with children, use gentle and respectful guidance, maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom, provide active supervision, complete required documentation and observations, communicate professionally with families and administration, and follow all Tiny City Academy policies and applicable Virginia childcare licensing requirements. The ideal candidate should have a genuine love for working with young children, patience, creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a classroom where children feel safe, welcomed, supported, and excited to learn. Responsibilities Develop a careful and creative program suitable for pre-k children Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.) Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children's progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience as a Pre-kTeacher Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and pre-k educational methods Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as mediator between children Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen Certification in child CPR BSc/BA in education or relevant field Valid licence to practice profession

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
