MILL RIVER UNIFIED UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
POSITION TITLE:

Special Educator, 1.0 FTE

LOCATION:

Clarendon Elem. School (this location is subject to change based on student needs)

SUPERVISED BY

Director of Student Services and Building Principal

BASIC FUNCTION

To provide high-quality specialized instruction and case management services to eligible students

WORKS WITH

Students, Parents, Teachers, Support Staff, Administration, and Community Partners

COMPENSATION RANGE

Annual salary is based on the candidate's initial salary schedule placement, determined by the

Superintendent of Schools in accordance with the 2024-2027 Master Agreement for Teachers. The salary

range for the 2026-2027 school year is from $48,082 - $89,758.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Licensure in the State of Vermont as a Special Educator spanning grades K-6 or higher, or a letter of eligibility for such.

2. Ability to provide high-quality specialized instruction and responsive, thorough case management services to eligible students.

3. Ability to work effectively with special education teams with multiple stakeholders.

4. Ability to work collaboratively with others in order to meet a wide variety of student needs.

5. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.

6. Must be able to pass all background and fingerprint requirements required by state law.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide high-quality specialized instruction to eligible students across all educational and functional areas of performance.

2. Provide responsive and thorough case management services including communication and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.

3. Maintain special education paperwork compliance as mandated by the State of Vermont Special Education Regulations and MRUUSD expectations.

4. Develop and implement IEP's to meet the diverse needs of students.

5. Participate in ongoing professional development as required by the MRUUSD and State of Vermont licensure rules.

6. Administer a variety of curriculum-based and standardized assessments and participate in the completion of the Evaluation Plan and Report process.

7. Participate in a variety of special education meetings on behalf of students.

8. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Administration.
