Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting full-time opportunity available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher in the scenic region near Stowe, VT! This contract position plays an essential role in supporting high school students, specifically focusing on 9th and 10th grade learners. Your primary focus will be providing case management while also offering direct instruction in functional skills and high school math. You'll work closely with students, families, and fellow educators to ensure personalized educational plans are implemented and students reach their fullest potential.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience working with high school students, particularly those in 9th and 10th grade Strong background in case management and documentation for special education services Familiarity with teaching functional skills and math at the secondary level Excellent communication skills—interacting with students, parents, and educational staff Organized, dependable, and flexible in a dynamic school environment
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of high school students, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records Deliver targeted instruction in functional skills and math, tailoring approaches to individual needs Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide ongoing support and advocacy to students and families Participate in IEP meetings and professional development sessions as required This contract position provides the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives in a supportive and professional environment situated near one of Vermont's most picturesque communities.
