Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Life Skills Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite position serves a PreK-5th grade caseload and offers the chance to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and fellow educators. Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education Certification in Washington State Master's degree in Education or a related field Familiarity or experience with PK-5 special education programs Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment Ability to implement individualized education plans and life skills curriculum Collaborative approach to working with staff, students, and families
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging special education instruction focused on life skills Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for student success Collect and report data on student progress and participate in IEP meetings Maintain a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere Engage in ongoing professional development and school initiatives
