Montessori Preschool Opportunities - Full-Time, Part-Time, Substitute & Internship Happy Hearts Montessori School Maple Valley, WA Job Description Happy Hearts Montessori School is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic educators to join our Montessori community. We welcome applicants with a variety of experience levels, from individuals beginning their early childhood education careers to classroom aides, assistant teachers, and experienced Montessori Lead Teachers. Full-time, part-time, substitute, and internship opportunities are available, with flexible scheduling based on candidate availability and the needs of our school. Whether you are looking for morning hours, school-day hours, a full-time schedule, or an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an early childhood classroom, we encourage you to apply. Montessori experience or certification is preferred for Lead Teacher candidates but is not required for all positions. Candidates with preschool or early childhood experience, as well as those interested in learning the Montessori approach, are welcome to apply. Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary depending on the position and level of experience and may include: Create a warm, nurturing, safe, and respectful classroom environment Guide and support children throughout the daily classroom routine Encourage independence, responsibility, curiosity, and respect for others Present Montessori lessons and activities based on training and experience Observe children and support their individual developmental needs Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management strategies Support children's social-emotional development and conflict-resolution skills Prepare and maintain an organized, inviting, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Assist with lesson planning, classroom activities, and preparation of materials Maintain appropriate classroom records and documentation Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and families Work collaboratively with teachers, assistants, aides, and school administration Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment Follow school policies and Washington State childcare licensing requirements Lead Teacher candidates may also supervise and provide guidance to classroom assistants and aides Qualifications We welcome applicants at different stages of their early childhood education careers. Qualifications will vary depending on the position. Experience working with preschool-age children preferred Montessori classroom experience or training is a plus Montessori certification (AMI, AMS, MACTE-accredited, or equivalent) preferred for Lead Teacher candidates Previous Lead Teacher experience is a plus for candidates interested in a classroom leadership role Warm, patient, dependable, and professional Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to build positive and respectful relationships with young children Lead Teacher candidates should have strong classroom management and leadership skills Must meet or be willing to complete applicable Washington State childcare licensing requirements Licensing & Training Requirements Candidates must have or be willing to obtain required credentials, clearances, and training applicable to their position, which may include: CPR/First Aid certification Food Worker Card Bloodborne Pathogens training TB clearance Washington State childcare background check Required Washington State/DCYF childcare training and documentation Schedule Full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities available Monday-Friday Flexible scheduling based on candidate availability and school needs Morning, school-day, and full-day schedules may be available Consistent weekly availability preferred Substitute opportunities available for candidates seeking occasional or on-call work We understand that applicants may have different scheduling needs and are happy to discuss availability during the interview process. Candidates who are not seeking a regular schedule are also welcome to apply to join our substitute pool.
