Key Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) is required State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is mandatory Previous experience providing direct, individualized instruction to visually impaired students, preferably in a 1:1 or pediatric setting Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary school teams Adaptable, patient, and committed to implementing customized educational strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized instruction and support to assigned students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the general education curriculum Develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress toward specific goals Consult with classroom teachers and school staff to adapt materials and environments for inclusion Employ a range of assistive technologies and braille instruction when needed Offer guidance and training to families and caregivers, empowering them to reinforce skills at home Contribute to team meetings and case conferences, advocating for students unique needs
