Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting high school learners as a Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity offers a rewarding experience for educators dedicated to fostering growth in every student, particularly those who benefit from targeted reading support. Be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise truly makes a difference each day, starting on September 1. As the primary provider of reading instruction for high school students, you'll partner with another Special Education Teacher who focuses on math. You will also take on case management for eight students, ensuring their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are actively supported. Executive functioning minutes are addressed based on student needs and outlined IEP goals, providing a tailored approach to each learner. What you'll bring: Valid certification in Special Education Previous experience working with students at the high school level Strong skills in reading instruction and supporting diverse learning needs Excellent communication and organization abilities Ability to develop positive relationships with students, staff, and families Commitment to ongoing professional growth Your responsibilities will include: Delivering reading instruction to students as mandated by their IEPs Case managing a caseload of eight students, including progress monitoring and parent communication Collaborating with the school's other Special Education teacher and academic staff Implementing executive functioning skill development as required for individual students Creating supportive, engaging, and manageable learning environments Maintaining documentation, IEP updates, and compliance timelines Enjoy a schedule of 7:55 AM to 3:15 PM, giving you a consistent routine while allowing time for after-school commitments.
