This contract position offers the chance to work closely with a small, cross-categorical caseloadtypically around 7 studentshelping them grow academically and develop self-regulation skills in an encouraging environment. Youll play a crucial role in guiding learners who require support with academic foundations and minor behavioral needs, fostering a positive classroom dynamic where every student can thrive.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Previous experience at the high school level is beneficial Strong knowledge of academic and mild behavioral interventions Ability to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Excellent communication and collaboration skills Dedication to creating inclusive, supportive learning spaces
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver academic instruction tailored to individual student goals Support students with mild self-regulation needs, providing guidance and encouragement Create and adapt lesson plans that align with IEPs and curriculum standards Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families Track, monitor, and report on student progress and adjust strategies as needed Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and professional development Foster a safe, respectful classroom environment that promotes student success This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, with a schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week.
