Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) required Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Previous experience working 1:1 with pediatric students in a school environment highly valued Comfortable collaborating with school professionals and families to support student success Excellent communication and organizational skills Willingness to commit to a long-term assignment and adapt to evolving student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct, individualized instruction to a student with visual impairment according to their IEP Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed Consult with general and special education staff to ensure accessible classroom materials and activities Support the students access to curriculum through adaptive technology, Braille, and other modalities Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure compliance with all educational standards Foster a positive, encouraging environment that builds confidence and academic growth
