EXPECTATION
A Substitute Teacher s a Christian by affirmation and example and supports the mission and vision of Christ Lutheran Church and School (CLCS). An active member of CLCS is preferred. Must have an affinity for young children. Confidentiality will be respected. Responsibilities Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction across subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies. Manage classroom behavior effectively by employing positive behavior management strategies and maintaining a respectful environment. Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students from various cultural backgrounds and with different learning styles. Support student engagement through interactive teaching techniques and use of educational technologies, including computers and digital resources. Collaborate with school staff, including teachers and administrators, to ensure smooth classroom operations and uphold school policies. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavior as needed. Follow mandated reporting laws and school policies to ensure student safety and compliance at all times. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or early childhood education. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation for K-8 students. Demonstrated classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment. Experience working with students with autism or special needs is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students. Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to enhance instruction. Knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and tutoring strategies. EDUCATION MINIMUM
Credentialed in the
U.S. EXPERIENCE MINIMUM
2 years progressively responsible experience as a teacher.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Leadership, conflict resolution, diplomacy, and flexibility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift up to 40 lbs., twist, bend, reach, push and pull. May be required to sit on the floor, kneel, or crawl. Maybe required to stand and observe children indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time. Must have adequate speech, vision, and hearing. Qualified individuals with a disability as defined by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) may be exempt from physical requirements for non-essential functions.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 6.5 - 13.0 per week
