Substitute Teacher (K-12) Ramona Unified School District | San Diego County $200/day ($100 half day), paid weekly | Monday to Friday, school hours | Day-to-day, choose your days | Ramona, CA Position Summary Ramona Unified School District needs certificated substitute teachers for K-12 classrooms when regular teachers are out. Pick up day-to-day assignments at the schools and on the days that fit your week, from elementary classrooms to middle and high school. There's no weekly minimum, and half days are available. Responsibilities Teach the plan:

Follow the lesson plans the teacher leaves and keep the class on track.

Lead the class:

Take attendance, set clear expectations, and keep the room calm.

Support students:

Answer questions and help small groups, including students with IEPs, using the plans and notes on hand.

Keep everyone safe:

Supervise in the classroom, at recess and lunch, and during transitions, and follow school procedures.

Leave helpful notes:

Share how the day went and anything the regular teacher should know.

Qualifications Education:

A bachelor's degree in any field.

Permit or credential:

Clearances:

A background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) and a quick TB risk assessment. Live Scan cost reimbursed in your paycheck after your 10th day worked. Experience (a big plus): Teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp, after-school programs, or other work with school-age kids. First-time subs are welcome. Many of our teachers start with tutoring or coaching experience.

Schedule & Location Location:

On-site at Ramona Unified schools, including Hanson, Ramona Elementary, Mt. Woodson, James Dukes, Olive Peirce Middle, and Ramona High.

Commute:

Close to San Diego Country Estates, and an easy drive from Poway, Escondido, and Lakeside.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, during school hours. Start and end times vary by school.

Flexibility:

Choose your days and schools, with no weekly minimum.

Getting oriented:

You'll learn your classroom, routines, and student needs at check-in on day one.

Compensation & Benefits Pay:

$200 per full day or $100 per half day, paid weekly every Friday.
