Substitute Teachers K-12 (POSTED 08/04/26) At Island Pacific Academy, values come first. The Substitute Teacher provides instruction, manages the classroom environment, and promotes student learning in the temporary absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute maintains the continuity of the educational program, upholds school values, and supports students' well-being while following lesson plans and school policies. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow lesson plans and daily schedules left by the classroom teacher. Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment. Provide clear instruction and support to meet diverse student learning needs. Manage student behavior consistent with school expectations and policies. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration. Report attendance, incidents, or concerns to the Division Principal or designee. Supervise students in class, during transitions, and at recess/lunch as needed. Leave written feedback for the returning teacher summarizing daily activities and any notable events.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

Prior teaching,classroom experience preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Alignment with the mission and values of Island Pacific Academy. Successful completion of required background and employment screenings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and supervise students indoors and outdoors. Ability to lift or move classroom materials weighing approximately 25 pounds. Ability to respond promptly to students' needs and safety concerns.
