Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to fill the role of a Substitute Teacher within Aurora West School District 129. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Responsibilities
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures, including attendance and discipline protocols.
  • Assist in the supervision of students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as required. Requirements
  • Valid Illinois Substitute Teacher License, Short Term Substitute License, or Professional Educator License
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and administration.
  • Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward teaching and learning.
Daily Rate:
$150/day Building Rate (Middle/High School Only): $160/day Long-Term Rate with
Substitute License:
$220/day Long-Term Rate with
PEL:
$250/day
