Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Enhance the educational experience of middle school students as an ASL paraprofessional and sign language interpreter in inclusive classroom environments. This contract opportunity is best suited for individuals with a strong command of American Sign Language and a passion for supporting student learning in a dynamic school setting.
Key Qualifications:
High school diploma required Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) through certification or comparable credential Experience as a paraprofessional, especially in educational settings, is highly valued Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compassion and patience in supporting students' academic growth
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide in-class interpretation services for middle school students in general education classes Foster understanding and engagement through accurate ASL interpretation Collaborate closely with teachers to ensure lesson content is accessible to all students Assist with classroom activities as needed, promoting an inclusive learning environment Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions Participate in relevant meetings and ongoing professional development
Work Details:
Monday through Friday, approximately 7:30AM - 2:30PM Full-time contract positions No behavioral intervention responsibilities—focused on general education classroom settings This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your ASL skills while making a meaningful difference in students' daily experiences.
