Middle School Salary:
$115.00 / day x 180 days
Job Goal:
As substitute teachers, you are responsible for the continuity of instruction in the absence of a regular faculty member.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information; Maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school policies; Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students; Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; Report to office upon arrival and departure at school; Review lesson plans, materials, and/or instructions left by absent teacher; Report student injuries, accidents, illnesses, or discipline problems to the school principal immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible; Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate; Organize students for effective instruction; Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building; Comply with and support school and district regulations and policies; Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities; and Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school policies and practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Assume and carry out daily classroom activities. Excellent communication and organizational skills; The ability to maintain effective classroom management The ability to follow oral and written directions; The ability to effectively manage an individual program plan for students with special needs; The ability to create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students; The ability to demonstrate fair and ethical judgments; The ability to display problem solving, and conflict resolution strategies with students; and The ability to use classroom instructional time appropriately and wisely.
Qualifications:
Candidate must be at least 18 years of age; Education graduation from an accredited high school or college; and Successful completion of background check, C.O.R.I. and fingerprinting.
