Through partnerships with educators, higher education, businesses, labor organizations, and government, TVHS connects classroom learning with the skills, challenges, and opportunities students will encounter in college, careers, and their communities. About Beginning September 2026 Tech Valley High School (TVHS) announce a vacancy for a Long-Term Substitute Math (September through October with possible extension). TVHS is an innovative regional public high school built upon strong curricular partnerships among K-12 educators, higher education, business, labor, and government. Project-Based Learning (PBL) is central to teaching and learning at TVHS, providing students with authentic, collaborative experiences that connect academic content to real-world challenges. We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative educator who values an innovative, authentic, and student-centered learning environment. The successful candidate will support students in developing strong mathematical skills while encouraging problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and the application of mathematics to meaningful, real-world contexts. Responsibilities Provide engaging mathematics instruction aligned with course and curriculum expectations. Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment. Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate support to meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback. Collaborate with TVHS faculty and staff to support learning experiences and student success. Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership. Maintain established classroom routines, expectations, and instructional continuity throughout the long-term assignment. Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will: Have experience working with high school students in mathematics courses. Demonstrate strong mathematical content knowledge and effective instructional practices. Be committed to an innovative, collaborative, and student-centered educational environment. Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, professionalism, and strong communication skills. Hold appropriate New York State teaching certification or qualifications applicable to the position.
