This role involves delivering engaging lessons that emphasize physical activity, sportsmanship, and overall wellness. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fitness education, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs. As a substitute teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of instruction while fostering a positive and motivating learning environment for students across various grade levels. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for exercise science and physical education. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and respect among students from diverse backgrounds. Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, disciplined, and engaging learning space. Incorporate educational technologies and digital tools to enhance instruction and student engagement. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, and upcoming activities through various channels including parent-teacher conferences and digital platforms. Adapt instructional methods to accommodate students with special needs or those requiring additional support, including individuals with autism or other developmental challenges. Promote health literacy by teaching nutrition basics, fitness principles, and the importance of physical activity for lifelong wellness. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, share best practices, and ensure consistency across grade levels. Follow school policies related to mandated reporting laws, safety procedures, and educational standards. Experience Prior experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or childcare setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation within physical education or health sciences. Experience managing classrooms effectively with strong behavior management skills. Familiarity with instructional adaptability techniques to support diverse learners from various cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of educational technologies including computers and interactive tools used in modern classrooms. Background working with students with special needs or in inclusive settings is advantageous. Previous teaching experience in private schools or early childhood education environments is a plus.
