Building Substitute - Early Childhood Education Seton Hill Child Services, Inc. - New Kensington Are you someone who enjoys working with children, likes variety in your day, and can easily adapt to different classroom environments? Seton Hill Child Services is seeking a dependable and flexible Building Substitute to join our early childhood education team! Unlike a traditional substitute who may travel between locations, our Building Substitute is regularly assigned to one center and provides support throughout that building wherever needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with different age groups and being an important part of a center team. What You'll Do As a Building Substitute, you will: Provide classroom coverage for staff absences, breaks, meetings, training, planning time, and vacancies. Work in different classrooms and with different age groups based on the daily needs of the center. Help maintain required staff-to-child ratios and active supervision . Engage with children through play, learning activities, conversations, and daily routines. Support Teachers and classroom staff with implementation of daily activities and lesson plans. Assist with meals, snacks, transitions, outdoor play, rest time, diapering/toileting, and other caregiving routines as appropriate. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Follow SHCS policies and procedures related to child safety, supervision, positive guidance, confidentiality, and mandated reporting. Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, coworkers, and supervisors. What We're Looking For Our ideal Building Substitute is: Dependable and reliable - this position plays an important role in keeping classrooms appropriately staffed. Flexible - your classroom assignment may change from day to day or even during the workday. Comfortable working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children . Positive, patient, and actively engaged with children. Able to work collaboratively with different teaching teams. Comfortable receiving direction and adapting to changing center needs. Committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children. Qualifications A Minimum of an Associates Degree in ECE or a related field is required. Early childhood education experience is preferred. CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus. Must meet all applicable SHCS, Pennsylvania childcare licensing, program, health, training, and background-clearance requirements. Why Join SHCS?
