Job Description
In the absence of the full time classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student's progress, and manages the learning environment.
Report to the assigned school each scheduled workday and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Serve as a substitute teacher in classrooms as assigned by school administration.
Follow lesson plans and instructional directions provided by the classroom teacher and/or administration.
Maintain a safe, orderly, positive, and productive learning environment for students.
Provide appropriate supervision of students and consistently follow school and district expectations for student behavior and safety.
Carry out established classroom routines, procedures, and schedules.
Maintain professional and respectful interactions with students, staff, families, and visitors.
Protect the confidentiality of student, employee, and school information.
Follow all Anderson School District Five policies, procedures, safety requirements, and school-level expectations.
Be flexible and willing to work with students across various grade levels, subject areas, classrooms, and school settings based on daily needs.
When not assigned to a classroom, perform school-related duties and provide operational, instructional, clerical, supervisory, or other support as directed by school administration.
Assist with student supervision in areas such as arrival, dismissal, hallways, cafeteria, recess, or other school activities as assigned.
Support teachers and staff with appropriate school-related tasks when classroom coverage is not needed.
Respond professionally and appropriately to changing needs and assignments throughout the school day.
Use school technology, equipment, and resources appropriately and responsibly.
Communicate concerns regarding students, safety, behavior, or assigned responsibilities promptly to the appropriate administrator.
Demonstrate initiative, dependability, professionalism, and a willingness to contribute wherever support is needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED is required. Hourly $13.33 / Hours 7:30 AM- 3:00 PM
