Job Description
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a Long-Term Substitute 4th/5th Grade Teacher at Westford School, to cover for a leave of absence. This position is anticipated to begin in February 2027 and go through the end of the 26/27 school year.
Pay:
$310.00 for a full day
EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state.

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Valid Educator license, or ability to hold a VT educator license, with appropriate elementary-level endorsement.
- The ability and enthusiasm to effectively engage and inspire students.
- Excellent teaching, organization, planning, written and oral communication, creative and collaborative skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group.
- Ability to effectively integrate social and emotional learning in the classroom to help all students succeed.
Experience teaching grade 1 preferred but not required. EWSD conducts thorough screenings of all applicants being recommended for hire, which may include contacting references not listed on your application. Selected individuals are subject to criminal records background checks and child and adult abuse registry checks.
