This position provides instructional support to teachers and other school staff to enhance the learning environment for students of all ability levels, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment. The role involves working closely with lead teachers to implement lesson plans, assist with classroom management, and deliver individualized or small-group instruction. A Day in the Life Your day begins by arriving at school before the first bell to review materials and lesson plans. You assist in preparing instructional materials and setting up the physical learning environment. Throughout the day, you supervise students during instructional and non-instructional periods, including guided reading groups, lunch, and recess. You spend significant time providing individual and small-group instructional support, reinforcing skills, and delivering enrichment or remedial assistance. You collaborate with the lead teacher to adjust support based on student progress, assist with testing and evaluation activities, and ensure students feel seen, supported, and ready to learn. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and the physical classroom environment to support daily learning activities. Support teachers in planning and preparation for both group and individual student activities. Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional activities, including transitions, lunch, and recess periods. Provide individual and small-group instructional support to reinforce academic skills and concepts. Deliver enrichment and remedial assistance to students based on their individual learning needs and teacher direction. Assist with student testing and evaluation activities to help monitor and document academic progress. Participate in activities that foster positive interactions and a supportive instructional environment. Communicate regularly with lead teachers and school staff regarding student behavior, progress, and any concerns that arise during the school day. Requirements Required ! Ability to work on an on-call basis with a flexible and adaptable schedule. ! Prior related experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth-focused setting. ! Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills. ! Punctual and reliable with a consistent record of professional conduct. ! Maintains a professional appearance appropriate for a school environment. ! Ability to lift heavy objects up to 65 lbs as needed. Preferred Associate's degree or higher in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field. Experience working in a K-12 school setting as a paraprofessional, tutor, or classroom volunteer. Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques or experience supporting students with special needs or learning differences.
