POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Senior Services Manager the program aide will organize, account for and maintain meal delivery route sheets, client in-home visits, data entry, phone calls, file, back-up for meal delivery to seniors on a set route and assists staff with various program duties. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Conduct in-home assessments Submit weekly meal units on GetCare software Prepare monthly program reports Complete quarterly assessments by phone Assist staff with copying, faxing, and data input. Back-up driver when drivers call out sick Mandated reporter- complete Adult Protective Service reports as needed. Submit referrals as needed (i.e., nutrition, case management) Other duties, as required or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of office equipment, like computers, printers and fax machines. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel, in particular). Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. Accurately perform basic mathematical functions. Possess a cheerful and friendly disposition.
Ability to:
read and follow traffic signs and safety laws/guidelines while driving an agency vehicle.
Ability to:
work and communicate effectively with elderly clients and volunteers of diverse cultures, read and follow food safety manual guidelines. Preferred bilingual (English/Spanish)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, preferred, but not required.
Experience:
working with senior citizens is desirable.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
No licensing/certification requirements for this position.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Occasional driving is required. Must provide your own vehicle, valid California Driver's License and proof of full insurance coverage Negative tuberculosis screening We require the selected candidate to undergo a criminal background check using the Live Scan fingerprinting method in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job or that an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job. Work in moderate noise levels and non-smoking environment Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently Frequently involves sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, and climbing stairs (as needed) Must be able to speak and hear clearly to communicate effectively Constantly operates a computer, keyboard, and other various office machinery In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), reasonable accommodations may be made to qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
COMPENSATION
In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
