Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns. Assist with daily childcare routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and toddler care. Maintain accurate records of children's development and participate in assessments such as standardized testing when applicable. Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety and welfare at all times. Skills Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies. Experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, including toddlers. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively and compassionately. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members. Familiarity with special education practices and supporting children with diverse needs. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in childhood education or preschool teaching are preferred. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws and child welfare best practices. Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus.
