About Us Glenwood Grove Early Learning is a licensed in-home early childhood program located in Scotts Valley. We are a small, intentional program built around the belief that the earliest years deserve the most thoughtful care. Our environment is warm, home-based, and deliberately intimate, offering low child-to-teacher ratios, meaningful relationships, and a genuine commitment to every child's development. We are seeking a reliable, warm, and attentive Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support our classroom operations and daily rhythms. The Role You will work alongside our founding team to support care, learning, and play for our mixed-age group of infants and preschool-age children.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with daily classroom routines, including circle time, sensory exploration, art, and outdoor backyard play. Providing attentive, high-quality care, supervision, and diapering/potty assistance. Helping maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment that meets California Community Care Licensing standards. Assisting with meal/snack times and rest periods. Supporting positive family interactions and daily updates.
Schedule & Hours Commitment:
Part-Time, 2 days per week
Total Hours:
8 to 15 hours per week (Exact days and shift times will be coordinated with the right candidate)
Calendar:
We align with the Scotts Valley Unified School District calendar, meaning no evenings, no weekends, and built-in breaks throughout the year. Compensation $22 to $25 per hour , depending on experience, credentials, and schedule. No evenings or weekends. Paid rest breaks.
What We Are Looking For Required:
Prior experience caring for infants, toddlers, or preschool-age children (in a licensed center, in-home facility, or professional caregiving setting). Patience, warmth, and a strong understanding of early child development. Ability to actively engage with young children on their level and support structured routines. Current or willingness to obtain EMSA-approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification. Completion of (or willingness to complete) California Mandated Reporter training. Clean Live Scan background clearance associated with California Community Care Licensing. Proof of state-mandated health clearances (TB test clearance and records for Tdap, MMR, and annual Flu vaccine or signed declination).
Preferred:
Early Childhood Education (ECE) units or coursework. Familiarity with the Brightwheel platform. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
