Previous experience as a school paraprofessional or similar role Genuine interest in supporting students with cognitive disabilities Strong communication and collaboration skills Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with children Ability to assist with academic tasks as well as social and behavioral skills Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance and following school protocols

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized support and encouragement for a 5th grade student Assist with daily classroom activities, adapting materials and assignments as needed Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and staff to reinforce learning goals Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment Encourage independence and self-confidence in the student's daily routine Monitor student progress and actively participate in team discussions Take advantage of a Monday through Thursday schedule from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, leaving your Fridays open.
