SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS & KS1) Thornton | Full-Time | ASAP Start Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Thornton on a full-time basis , starting as soon as possible . This is a rewarding opportunity to support children across EYFS and Key Stage 1 who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) . The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive environment. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide tailored support to pupils with identified special educational needs across EYFS and KS1. Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver individualised learning and intervention programmes. Support pupils both within the classroom and through small group or one-to-one sessions. Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, engaging learning environment. Assist with the development of communication, social, emotional and academic skills. Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support pupil progress. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience working with children with SEN within a school, nursery, or care setting. Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Has strong communication and teamwork skills. Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of pupils. Is committed to promoting inclusion and helping children thrive in their educational journey.
