EMPLOYMENT TYPE
Part-Time (3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., (Monday through Friday) Schedules may fluctuate depending on school openings and closings.
POSITION SUMMARY
- The After School Program Aide assists in delivering quality after-school programming by supporting group activities, providing supervision, and helping students with homework and enrichment.
This role is essential to maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere for youth.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with youth in a group setting preferred. Ability to follow directions and support team goals. Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting. Patience, reliability, and enthusiasm for youth development. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with planning and leading age-appropriate enrichment, academic, or recreational activities. Provide direct supervision of children during all program components (snack, homework, recreation, etc.). Support students during homework or tutoring time. Help set up and clean up program spaces daily. Reinforce positive behavior and support youth social-emotional development. Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns to the Site Coordinator. Maintain a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants.

- Employment is contingent upon adequate funding from local, state, and federal agencies.
- Employees will be notified immediately upon First State's receipt of written notification of funding decrease or termination.
- When attending internal or external trainings you are required to provide a written summary of the key elements of the training, provide takeaways that can be applicable to the enhancement of the department, and material handouts within three to five days of your return to work.
- Employees may be assigned other duties and responsibilities that are not specifically outlined in this job description but are related to the position and necessary to support the effective operation and overall success of the program and organization.
Pay:
Up to $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 per week
