Responsibilities Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, literacy education, math, physical education, and other core subjects. Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that support children's social-emotional growth. Provide individualized child development instruction, including early intervention techniques and special education accommodations when necessary. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress, discuss concerns, and promote active involvement in their child's learning journey. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child welfare and incident reports. Conduct classroom activities that promote childhood development, including toddler care routines and preschool teaching methods. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid and CPR protocols, ensuring health standards are met consistently. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or preschool environments. Certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or equivalent credential; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is preferred. Strong knowledge of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, standardized testing, and teaching physical education or math to young children. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to implement inclusive practices for children with special needs or requiring early intervention services.
