We are a non-profit preschool that has been serving the Kihei community for over 40 years! This exciting role offers comprehensive training to help you develop essential skills in supporting young learners' growth and development. As a key member of our school community, you will assist lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for children ages 2-5 years old. This paid position is perfect for individuals passionate about early childhood education and eager to make a positive impact on children's lives while gaining valuable classroom experience. Duties Support lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans focused on literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and developmental milestones Supervise and engage with children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor recess to ensure safety and positive behavior Assist with classroom management strategies to promote respectful interactions and a productive learning environment Help prepare educational materials and set up learning stations aligned with curriculum goals Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, needs, and classroom events Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with educational regulations and safety standards Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt instructional approaches for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism Qualifications Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Strong communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early childhood education best practices Ability to supervise children effectively while maintaining a safe environment at all times Familiarity with educational technologies and computers used in classroom settings is a plus Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; training will be provided if needed This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally within the field of early childhood education. Pay:
